NOISE FROM TIMING BELT AREA ! !

Featured Replies

Concerning Superb (2016) 2.0 150 diesel at just 11,000 miles.

I remember reading something somewhere concerning a rotational catching type noise from the belt area of the engine.

I too have heard a noise from my engine and am now almost paranoid about it as its there every time i start the engine.

It sounds as if its something to do with a tensioner or alternator clutch pulley but my local dealer said its a characteristic but i just don't buy it.

I think i have also read somewhere that Skoda have issued some sort of technical bulletin concerning this and wondered  if anyone can shed any light on the content ?

Trying to obtain any sensible information from my dealer is like trying to interrogate N.A.S.A  !  !  ! Yet we all have a sincere interest in the same product !

I had this last winter at around 19k. MSB Skoda replaced the belt, tensioners and pulleys under warranty, no questions asked.
