The higher purchase price, higher fuel costs at the pumps as well as the reliability concerns of doing low mileage with diesel emissions systems (Diesel Particulate Filter), means you'll never offset those increased costs with the minimal fuel savings you'll make over the life of the car.

 

The TSI engines are so much more refined, and quieter than the TDI's too.

 

The 1.4 TSI is an absolute peach of an engine. Be sure to drive both to be sure for yourself.

Bought a 1.6tdi greenline III estate. Which I needed , the tsi was a saloon Cracking motor . got advised by 2 mechanics 1.4tsi engines have shallow pistons and do go wrong. Cheers for the advise
