Location / repair of rear wash tube joint

Featured Replies

I got around to sorting out the problem with the leaking rear wash pipe today.

Ive took a few pics showing the location of the joint and the necessary trim that needs to be removed.

Took me about 45 min to complete -

1. Lower the rear seat (near side) and remove the side bolster by pushing down and pulling forward (yellow arrow).

2. Pull surrounding trim forward (you have to be a little brutal (red arrow).

3. The offending joint is just to the right of the cd changer, follow the wiring loom (green arrow).

You may have to remove the handle thats used to hold shoping bags and also three press type studs that are located in the storage area next to the cd changer, this may give you a little more movement on the trim. I did take these off but you might get away without doing this.

Thanks Ross for the advice, I would have been a lot longer trying to locate the leak and remove trim.

Wow! Great pics - a workshop manual at last - want to do the whole car?

Next week engine and gearbox removal:rofl:

Do the 2 tubes just push into each other ? Jaysus I thought there'd be some sort of quick disconnect like in the boot of the mk1.

Btw Good info & pics
