EML misery, unsure of next move

Featured Replies

Afternoon everyone.

My girlfriends car recently failed its MOT due to the EML being permanently illuminated.

Bit of background info for the car..

2004 Fabia Ambiente 1.4

Car is always started straight away, no turn of the key to let all lights come on, then go out again, is it wont come out of limp mode and you are met with the EPC and EML lights.

Car also suffers from the coolant temp sensor issue, but intermittently until car has been going for about 5 mins.

Had car plugged in today by an independent diagnostic. (See attached)

Where should I start? Will a new oxygen sensor alone get the EML out? Or would I need a new throttle body as well?

Throttle body may just need the engine ECU re-adapting to it, judging by some of the listed faults.  That possibly can't happen until the oxygen sensor fault is fixed.

It's the rear sesnor, post-cat, so should be cheaper than if it was the front one.  Check wiring isn't broken before spending anything on parts though, the fault code suggests a possible broken wire associated with the heater, blue/red or brown/white wires, I think.
