It depends where you live. The UK dealers will try and tell you its as little as 5 years/60k miles, in Europe there is no official time limit and after 60k miles (100k km) it should be inspected every 20k miles / 30k km or so with replacement recommended around 120 k miles iirc.

No 1.4 and 1.5 tsi are cambelt.

 

Note that 1.0/1.4/1.5tsi have a clever multi oval drive arrangement which lowers peak forces on the belt greatly compared to older circular designs, leading to much longer life.

Is it just 2.0tsi's that are chain

They were on the MK II Superb but the MKIII has the cam belt EA211 engine for the 1.4 and 1.5 tsi's
