Superb 280 Service Schedule

Featured Replies

Hi - does anyone know where to find ?  or have a copy they can email me

they service schedule requirements for 2018  Superb 280 4x4

(I know its supposedly 2yrs/24k miles)  but what do they do each service - ie when to change diff oils, spark plugs etc etc.

(not surprisingly the dealers dont want to supply it !!!)

Cheers.  But what about 4x4 service. Dsg. , cambelts etc.  All the info that used to be in service books !!

dealer doesn't even recommend oil change. 1 yr 11k miles !!!

I asked my dealer the same and they told me they don't have one, it just magically pops up the tasks when they start the service.  Though said dealer also failed to mention brake fluid change and Haldex oil change when I last booked it in...

Safest thing to do is have everything changed at every service though that could prove expensive :giggle:

FWIW I'm on fixed servicing and do about 7k a year so I think my Haldex service was time based (3 years) rather than distance (< 21k).  The rest of the info is probably tucked away in other forum threads.

DM Keith. West yorks are rubbish. Totally ignorant.   £199. Doesn't know what's included. Except all checks !!!!   Probably why I didn't buy either of our superbsfrom them.

It depends on what service regime/schedule you have the car set to.

I'm not sure why the dealer you asked is being secretive.

I believe this link is for cars 3 yrs and older !!  Nothing for cars under warranty first 3 years.

I believe it isn't  . The servicing regimes and work carried out/parts replaced is correct in that link (based on reading that and comparing it with what my local dealer has told me)

Ask another dealer for the maintenance schedule of the car.

IIRC (give or take a few K miles):

* DSG oil change every 40K miles

* Haldex oil is every 3 years (though it depends who you ask!!!!) - there's no 'official' filter change anymore but regardless of what a Skoda dealer tells you, find a local and reputable independent specialist who is familiar with the work required and ask them to remove/clean/inspect the filter.  Volvo owners were routinely told the filter is maintenance free only to find themselves with expensive Haldex failures on higher mileage cars.

* Brake fluid change every 40K miles

It used to be so much easier when you could check the manual!

Hi - if you read right at the bottom - it does say

"The above displayed prices are valid for ŠKODA vehicles 3 years (from first MOT) up to 10 years old. Fixed price servicing is available to customers at participating ŠKODA retailers only, representing the maximum selling price – participating ŠKODA retailers are free to offer lower prices."

That's the prices.  I'm pertaining to the actual schedule/work carried out:

I'm in the same boat regarding confusion on servicing ... even more so after discussing it with local dealer !    My 280 is due it's first service 1/9/19 and will only be c. 3500 miles at that time.  I was considering buying  a 2 year plan (the one for cars under a year old) which provides an oil service and an interim service for a total of £342 . These are available on the fixed price servicing list at £119 and £179 , total £298 , a saving of £44 on the 2 year plan. NOT SO according to dealer who advises that the first oil service is charged out at c. £149 although he concurs with the interim figure at £179 .  Then you look at the content of the Service Plan , especially second year .... it provides an interim / inspection service (an oil change and a possible pollen filter)  , not the Major Service stated as required every 2 years in published data although I accept there is some ambiguity over whether a 2 year Major Service is required at the first 2 years , only subsequent 2 year intervals . And then of course there is general confusion over air filters / pollen filters / plugs on petrols etc etc .  In summary a bit of a buggers muddle caused in the main by Skoda UK not communicating properly with their dealer network before publishing interval / cost lists . I'll probably just buy a 2 year plan and face a further journey into the twilight zone as I approach year 3 servicing requirements ... Oh just tried to buy one on line and a message appears telling me (actual message cut and pasted) 'Sorry, we have been unable to locate a ŠKODA Service Plan for your vehicle. Please visit your local ŠKODA Retailer for suitable alternatives'.  It's life Jim , but not as we know it , not as we know it , not as we know it  😬

Just on the Haldex, there is no replaceable filter on the Haldex 5 units. But there is a gauze strainer thing built into the pump and I’d want that cleaned - pump has to be removed and then it’s best to replace the sealing O rings

Brake fluid is after 3 years, then every 2 years.

Spark plugs are every 40,000 miles according to Erwin, but that seems quite frequent for palladium ones.

Air filter at some point, but I can’t remember when. Probably 40k miles too.

You can pay €8 for an hour on ERWIN and print out lots of stuff including the maintenance schedule. I have done so but unfortunately I’m away from home for an extended period so I can’t check it.
