17” Octy Spider wheels

Featured Replies

I know this has been discussed before and is common, but is there anything inherently dangerous about having the original Octavia tyres with the 205/50R17 tyres? They’re slightly chunky and REALLY fill the wheelarch, but after trying one they don’t rub and I can go lock to lock no issue.

is it doable, or silly to fit them if the gap is like 1” at its worst

Even when the car's on bump? You wouldn't be the first person to test this statically, but still have issues when the car's on bump and/or loaded.

Usually catches on the back right if memory serves.

Ah. Should it be fine if I use 205/40R17? Ive seen it mentioned before, although there's not much I can find to be certain

Yeah 205/40 is fine and done to death with spiders.
