No idea. The dealer made an error in the order to the factory and they forgot to include the adaptive cruise control. Luckily we found a company here in The Netherlands that’s specialized in fitting factory options on any VAG vehicle. They never attempted to upgrade normal CC to adaptive CC, but they were up for a challenge. The invoice went straight to the dealer since they made the error in the first place. I never heard how much it was.

But I could find the changed stalks for the steering column for about €250 online. Other then that it is some labor, but fitting is apparently wasn’t to difficult since the car already had Lane Assist and thus the radar unit. It was a matter of the other stalks, some new controlling electronics and some wizardry with an online connection to the factory to activate the features.

Sounds like the dealer got off comparatively lightly.

I received a black grill surround the other day and hope to fit it in the next day or two. I’m not holding out much hope for the chrome one surviving removal intact. 😁

Yeh think I’ll give that a miss then . The grill doesn’t seem very easy to remove . There was no black grills when I bought mine so got mine wrapped instead

The original chrome one I had also didn’t survive the replacement with the black version. They nearly got it out in piece but when trying to get the last part loose it broke. Those little plastic clips are quite fragile.

my crome grill came off in 3 pieces!

Did you get your bonnet badge off in one piece though?

Both my front and rear badges broke inside at the same point but will still fit back on and shouldn’t be able to notice

My original rear reflectors came off in many pieces. 🤣

These parts are obviously designed for fast assembly, not disassembly.

I’ll not put too much effort into preserving the original bits, but will have a go one day this week. I’ve not bought the dark badges yet, but will certainly consider buying them after I’ve destroyed the chrome grill surround. 😜

Nope, outer edge circle broke off as a whole piece, same with rear badge.

The badges are plastic pop rivet type things . They help to locate central but I cut them down the the black ones so removal will be easy and sell on . It’s only a dimple underneath on bonnet and boot but still end up gripping enough to split/crack when removed

Thanks for the information.👍

Next will be the grill surround, then maybe the badges , brake hub and calliper painting, steering wheel with paddles and then the window trims wrapping.

After the warranty runs out next year I shall consider having some sort of map or other performance mod.

Reminders of insurance and warranty invalidation need not post. 😎

Brake hubs and calipers are rubbish I had to paint mine especially the rears . I painted the front calipers but still to finish the rears as needed a smaller brush .

Finally got around to changing the grill surround, as predicted the chrome one didn’t make it.

[snipped for brevity]

So according to your pictures you first removed the 6 torx screws at the top, then take off the chrome surround just pulling up with your fingers but the bottom part gone broken in the middle, anyway you put on the black surround just pushing with your hands on the bottom part and finally put again the 6 top screws at the top.

There are no screws for the bottom part? And the black grille is well placed without gaps despite not having screws at the bottom?

Am I right or am I missing something?

Thanks

Did you need radar recalibration? I'm guessing not bc the radar seems untouched but I prefer to confirm.

These two posts provide the best description of the process that I've seen yet - though you need to get your browser to translate them first 😁

There's no danger of needing radar recalibration unless you remove the whole bumper - and even then I don't think it would definitely be needed, if you are careful (though I haven't tried yet).

As above, the radar isn’t disturbed, even if you remove the bumper. The radar isn’t mounted on the bumper, but some distance behind.

I didn’t remove the bumper, just the screws at the top. No screws at the bottom only clips, but the clips at the bottom are inaccessible without removing the bumper. I wasn’t bothered about keeping the old grill surrounded, so just broke it off when I‘d removed as much as I could(top and most of the sides). The new one simply clipped in and was a good fit. I refitted the the six screws.
