COM port / serial cable / VAG-COM

Trying to use VAG-COM for the first time. Version 3112. Bought a serial cable and a PCMCIA RS232 Serial Adaptor.

Adaptor is showing as COM 16 in the lower slot and COM 17 in the higher slot.

Trouble is VAG-COM only seems to recognise COMS 1 thru 4 and is not working for me! :(

Even the cardbus destructions suggest it should be recognised as COM3.

COM3 is available, 1, 4 and 5 are used (Communications on 1 and Bluetooth on 4 and 5).

Anyone any idea how I can assign the PCMCIA card to COM 2 or 3 :confused:

For mine: control panel, system, hardware, device manager, ports (com & lpt), your pcmcia adapter, properties, advanced, com port number!

Hi. I got a xenon light that last week startet to act up with flickering. So I read here and understood and got confirmed that is the first on a path to have to change the xenon bulbs. My process was the following: Flickering right xeon light Turned off the lights a few days, then one day turned off and they both were dead, no life at all on auto at least. changed both left and right xenon. Surpriced how easy it was. The lights still dead after changed both to philips D3D bulbs. The ifht xen

Hi guys My Octavia 2 FL makes rattling noise on rough asphalt, exposed stones, small cracks. Brakes, system ATE, disc 280mm, pads Febi 16328. When I press brake pedal quiet. When release rattling comes back. I even replaced one rubber sleeve. New Febi sleeve is more loose than orginal ATE Skoda OEM sleeve. I replaced guide pins for brand new ATE. MOT in March nothing in suspension. I know sway bar link clattering noise. I think left side is louder than right or it is noise from left wheel. Any

Hi Everyone, I have a Factory fitted electric Tow bar. Last time I use, it was 5 years ago I believe. I tried to use it Today no chance not releasing. It has a green light always but whenever I pull it out light changes to red blinking and tow bar is not releasing. I used some wd-40 and rust cleaner but still result didn't' change. I also tried to pull out the tow bar with bare hand or hit the mechanism with a wood or hammer(kindly), still no chance. Anyone faced the same issue?

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here has come across this exact issue, because after 7 months and multiple visits, neither my dealer nor Škoda’s technical support has been able to identify the cause. Car: Škoda Superb Sportline, 2021, 200kW Problem: When braking, the side sensors intermittently trigger a warning that there is an obstacle very close to the car — even though there is nothing there. History is that since the coilovers were done, the front-left top mount has aways creaked on turning; classic top mount sound of juddering movement. I've tried rotating the spring a little in case that's a difference but I need to do try some more just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. In the meantime, the front right has developed a creak which is different. It's a heavier creaky rubber feel to it which is triggered on minor movement/weight shift. Going over speedbumps obviously makes
