Who Runs the Oldest Fabia in the UK

Featured Replies

I was reminded of a Skoda Fabia and its owner that we met when camping in the Forest of Dean.

The car had six volt electrics and had been lovingly polished down to its undercoat.

Are there any similar Fabia still around and in use?

6Volt electrics in an old Fabia, more like a flat battery I'd think, just how long ago do you think that car makers ditched using 6Volt systems?

I don't think it was a Fabia. They only go back to 1999.

@gumdrop - Well, it was either a Fabia (Name first used 1999) or had 6v electrics. The closest thing I can find to a Fabia (name) that might have 6v electrics would be a 1950 Felicia (front engine RWD).

Wino;

Yes you are right, the Forest of Dean Skoda looked like the old Renault Dauphine.

Much cuter than a Fabia!

I only seem to remember the Dauphine and Morris 1000 types being by the roadside with one or other of their front wheels

tucked under, after the suspension failed.

It's an Estelle, then. Had a green 120L. Could have been a MB1000.

I think the Forest of Dean one had been red but time and polishing left it a pink colour.

If I remember correctly it had a speedometer and a handful of tiny lights as other indications.

It was more like the lower picture I think but it was almost 45 years ago.

Which is an MB1000, not a Fabia.
