How to partly remove headliner (panoramic roof car noise)

Featured Replies

I unfortunately still have some annoying noise coming from the front passenger side door (right hand traffic) and it is driving me crazy because it is not quite reproduceable.

I already did a lot of things but its still there, still do not know where it is coming from.

Does anybody know where the headliner is mounted? I would like to take it off on the front passenger side to check the screws of the panoramic roof.

I do have the manual how to remove the headliner:

It says:

* Remove ABCD pillar trim

* Remove inner roof light in the middle

* remove glasses compartment

* remove handgrip

* remove sunshades

* remove bonnet interior

* remove back seats

* remove double bonnet

* remove bonnet trim right

* remove bonnet rubber seal

* get out headliner

I only want to check the screws, what have I to remove to get enough room in the front between roof and headliner to get a wrench in between nicely?

How is the headliner attached to the roof? Is there some velcro?

Do you have a picture where the velcro and clips are?

Sadly No My 245 octavia was been to the dealers as the headliner was creaking so it was removed and refitted

I would be removing the passeneger side side panel that attaches to the dash as its a common source of rattles.

Drove me crazy till I found about it from this forum.

You can add bits of fabric tape to take up the play

i will attach a post from here once I get home explain where to put tape 😉

Thank you for the suggestion,

I already drove with this panel detached, the noise was still there.

Then it is not this panel, I take it?

Could you please show me a photo, I already put some foam on there, for comparison.

Somehow I have the feeling it comes from the passenger rain drain hose.

How can I remove the handgrips?

Can the plastic cover be removed without a bent screwdriver?
