Fabia Vrs xenon headlight repair?

Featured Replies

Hi guys. I have some problems with my headlights. They are the Oem xenons with d2s bulbs. The left headlight could shine brighter whereas the housing tabs and leveling thing on the right one are busted, so it is pointing all the way down, both low and high beams...  Therefore, I must have them either replaced or somehow repaired... Depo used to have them as an aftermarket option, but I am unable to find them anywhere... My Fabia is a LHD version btw. My questions are: What is the size of the factory projector, 2 or 2.5 inches? Is there a way to retrofit some Morimoto projectors along with the new d2s bulbs and call it a day? In fact, any idea is welcome... Cheers guys!

Not totally clear what you are saying. A dropped headlight is normally due to the reflector coming of the adjuster screw. It can be popped back in. Not sure what you mean by the housing tabs?

I reckon you could make some aftermarket projectors fit.

Something like this may help

Thanks for the response. I will let a headlights repair and restore shop handle this.... My mechanic told me the headlight droops because something is broken... The wheel or whatever for manual headlight adjustment is broken too... I guess it is the same as on a non xenon headlight and can easily be sourced...

They usually come out of the adjusters and droop when they are adjusted without using VCDS. If the control position isn’t set then all that happens is the motor just keeps going trying to bring the headlamp level to its previous set control position and breaks.

Oh I didnt know that!  Thanks...So no adjusting without VCDS... How could I safely put them on myself without braking anything when I get them repaired? My plan is to take them off and send them off to the repair shop...

Is there a way of adjusting them manually Ross? Say for example if the rear beam height sensor is buggered? Can the motors be disconnected from the power and the lamps aligned manually?

Disconnecting the motors would make the most sense as you wouldn’t have the in car level adjustment anyway.
