Shark fin Aerial

Featured Replies

I have the Karoq 1.6TDi SE Manual.   It has a 'shark fin' aerial fitted.  Anyone know if this is used for FM/DAB radio aerial?  If so is it possible to change it to one that has some length of aerial in order to enhance reception.  Here in Gloucestershire reception is frequently lost while listening to Radio Gloucestershire due to the terrain.

The "sharkfin" is NOT an aerial but a source for GPS positioning. The radio aerial is incorporated into the rear 'screen - this is my understanding anyway, which would mean I cannot see any way to improve your reception. I have found DAB intermittent and certainly for local radio I much prefer AM.

Thanks for that JKW.   I asked the question because the car (SE) does not have satNav.  The Bolero infotainment system is installed.

Aah, might be a different system then. My answer was based on my experience with both Amundsen & Columbus . Good luck with finding the solution - have you contacted a dealership ? If it's a good 'un like mine they'll find the answer for you.

Might be a dummy shark fin.
