Mmm £50 a year subscription plus the price of the adapter, VCDS doesn’t seem so expensive now and guaranteed help if you have problems.

How much are vcds? And are there good and bad 1s?

I had/have the BMW version. I used it a lot for diagnostics etc. 

I have OBD eleven as well and prefer that in some respects but both are similar in terms of functionality
