In my experience it's rarely the discs that are warped, it usually the pads that have been overheated and transferred material to the friction surface of the disc.

That is a common cause true. Measured the run out of plenty of cheap discs before now. And I’d be very surprised if a lot of the cars I’ve worked on over the years had their brakes overheated lol 

 

Used car car sales was a prime example. Sales having to put discs on the car so go for the cheapest possible. Car back before long with brake judder. Eicher are a prime example.
