Yeti V Hedge!

Featured Replies

The wife had an argument with a hedge this morning and ended up scratching the passenger side front and rear doors, rear quarter panel, rear light, tailgate and both black plastic panels between the windows (don't know the proper names)!

The scratches to the painted panels might polish out with luck but these black plastic panels seem to have come off worst. I'm assuming that they will have to be replaced unless they can be repaired. Has anyone any ideas?

You were lucky my wife tried to park my 2016 Superb in a multi-storey car park and the concrete pillar won the argument decisively that day. That was an awkward conversation for her when she got home.:bandit:

You could try a Micro Mesh polishing kit.  It comprises a series of graded cushion backed very fine abrasive sheets plus a liquid abrasive for final polishing using a cloth.  Intended for restoring scratched plastic.

+ 1 micro mesh, originally for aircraft cockpit covers, I 've used it on the plastic panels on Bang and Olufsen hifi stuff, my yeti etc

Thanks guys.

I've never heard of Micro Mesh before. I assume you can get it from Halfords or similar.

Never seen it in Halfords.
Google is probably your friend.

no its an aircraft product! only seen it on flightstore!

Try using G3 or another scratch remover then car polish to finish. I had a scratch from collision with overhead branch on the plastic cover on the A pillar and used G3 to remove the scratch - took several applications - then shone with regular car polish. I am sure that T Cut would do the same job just have to be careful and not rush the final polish stage. Plastic is relatively soft compared with paint finish.
