Skoda Fabia Estate Rear window replacment

Featured Replies

Hey there, recently I've had a smashed rear window on my 2004 fabia estate (off side window fyi), I've got a new replacement window and have taken the rear door card off. i'm a bit puzzled of where to start if im being honest, most of the glass is out of where the window sits other than a few small bits I can see really (honestly is minimal amounts), so just wondering if anyone has any pointers or some know how with this topic. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

So assuming as you have taken the door card off you mean the one in the door.

The main window glass has to come out and the rear 1/4 light comes out with the whole channel and seal.

So is there no easy way around it?

It's done how it's done, not really sure how you would shortcut it.

Which window has been broken? The quarterlight in the door, the wind up and down window in the door or the window in the rear body pillar?

The wind up one

So not the one I arrowed?

It's not tricky to fit but it is a pain. I did my rear door quarterlight months ago and the longest bit was vacuuming out the glass, bits of which were in the boot and as far as the dash and front footwells. You are best taking out the regulator carrier. This may be held by bolts or by rivets which have to be drilled out. The glass is held to the regulator by a white plastic double pin, one inside the other, which are reached through a central hole covered by a black rubber bung. This must be re-used and is inserted in the new glass very carefully before the glass is fitted.

An alternative is to take the car to someone like Autoglass and save yourself the faff.
