Brake Fluid Capacity

Featured Replies

Hi  First Major Service due on the 2016 MK3 Monte. Taking it to my local garage,

How much brake fluid needed for complete change? Is it 1.5L as per the MK2 Fabia (as it not listed in the MK3 handbook)

1.5 litres would be plenty

thanks, was trying to get away with buying 1 bottle (ie 1 litre)

1 litre would do the job

Strange thing is, for my 2011 Audi S4, the total quantity of fluid removed from all 4 wheel callipers and the clutch is 1.1litre, 1.0litre for brakes only, official workshop manual was the source of that info!  Similarly for my wife's 2015 Polo 1.2TSI 110PS, the quantities are all the same! Ie a standard VW Group statement covers all.

Some fluid must be lost over time as 'heat' when the brake oil starts to go watery, it will evap quicker?
