Fabia Monte Carlo Estate 1.6 - Good buy?

Featured Replies

Wondering if this car would be a good buy. I'm 20 and it'll be my first car. I'm not much of a car person but I need something decent sized for transporting a drum kit and other stuff.

It's a 2013 1.6 diesel monte Carlo estate. 60k miles and full service history.

Anything to look out for with these cars

Forgot to add it's for sale for £5000

Welcome to Briskoda we had an SE Fabia estate with a manual gearbox and the 1.6TDi engine for 4 years and 33,000 miles and it was very cheap to run giving 50+mpg all the time, more on a longer run. Cheap road tax is a nice bonus and reasonable insurance for someone your age. It was replaced by a one year old Fabia Monte Carlo hatch in white (like the estate) in 2014 with 1.6TDi engine and manual gearbox. With the 17" alloys and wide tyres it was great fun to drive and economical like the estate. Nothing to dislike really and the estate has a 500 litre boot so ideal for a drum kit. I would have loved to been able to have had such a great car for my first car and even the price seems reasonable  if it is in good condition.

At 6 years old the cambelt should have been changed, so check that in the service history.

Brilliant cheers folks. Timing belt and a new water pump were put in earlier this year.

Will go take a look at it soon I think.
