Any one doubting practicality of the superb ,doing dry run before camping hols ,6 man airbeam tent weighs 30kg and takes up 60% boot space on it's own 😞 had a brainwave and found rear legroom behind driver is so huge tent stands on end on floor leaving whole boot spare for other gear!! Doubt many other cars could do that

Impressive that you can get the tent in the car behind the seat. How long is the bag and can you get it folded up neatly for the return journey?

 

Now that you have the tent in the car are you now going to try to get the car in the tent in case it rains? 😁

😂 900mm x500 x400 tent goes in bag ok as bag made over size to fit ,getting it out of car was awkward ,had to sort of bear hug and stagger backwards 🤣 car might fit in tent  it's 6.5 M long!!

I've had an 8 man tent in the back of my Octavia for the same reason as you.....Too much room taken up in the boot, and it sat up similar to having a person sat there.

I had to wrap it up tightly as the other 2/3 of the back seat was for the dog and his bed, so he was completely comfy. (sadly passed away now)

All the other of our bedding, clothing and cooking stuff went in the boot very nicely....

An iCandy Pushchair base fits easily behind the drivers seat with all the wheels on 

 

We often go away with the dogs and I don't own a roof box. It's amazing what you can stash in them footwells, bags , suitcases general clobber ...

 

It also helps I'm a short arse as well lol.....

I may have missed something, but I'm not sure anyone suggested that you should put the Mrs in an over-size bag in the footwell. Though to be fair, a decent defence lawyer could probably argue it for you...
