glass cleaner

Featured Replies

Not really an Octy 2 thread but what do you guys and gals use for exterior screen cleaning? I use Autoglym Glass Polish but wondered if there is anything new out there for smear free quick cleaning. I find the pump bottle liquid cleaners pretty useless.

AutoGlym glass cleaner doesnt shift nose prints from the glass (from the dog ;)) but the Halfords own brand one does. I usually use the Halfords spray for general cleaning and their "Cream Glass Cleaner" for the windscreen if its particularly dirty/greasy.

Autoglym glass polish works a treat on side windows and tail/head light lenses.

I use halford's glass cutter, then rain x on the side windows.

Sainsbury's own brand glass cleaner does the job for me and then a coating of Ombrello glass treatment means that most things just wipe off with a damp cloth, plus saves wear and tear on the wipers! :D

Either can shift foot prints from the inside of the windscreen.

Now that's what I call a driving position!

Clearcote Quikshine inside and out. Tried others but this moves everything and lasts a while, can also use it on every other part of the car.

Got mine from Richard, here http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb2clean.html

Also have a look at his guides on how to clean and polish the car.

Regular washing, then use window glass cleaner spray. I have some proper industrial type stuff, cos the stuff from supermarkets doesnt really make a good job of any window, is a bit weak. (incidentally, look at the stuff supermarket checkouts use to clean the barcode scanners - is industrial, not stuff they sell). Then use Rain-X on the windscreen, that's good stuff.

Just bought some autoglyn glass stuff to see what it's like :)

Expensive being a Briskoda member! :/

For many years I have used methylated spirits in luke warm water to clean all windows and newspaper (the FT!) to dry and polish. No smears and leaves the windows sparkling.
