Wax Recommendation

Featured Replies

Having just tried some Bouncers Done & Dusted Si left me very impressed. However I wondered if there are any waxes out there that mimic the D&D i.e really glossy, very slick finish, reasonably long lasting and won't break the bank.

I do a deep clean twice a year. I try to do it 6 months apart but due to the weather there can be an 8 month gap and this stuff is still beading strongly;

This was taken in April on  a 9yo/100k car;

You're spoiled for choice but as the man above said, you wont go wrong with bilt hamber double speed wax. Great results and wont break the bank. Usually between £15-£19.

I use the done and dusted si on it when it needs a boost as well. Seem to work well together.

Thanks for the replies. I had a quick look around the internet and there are some reports that the double speed wax can haze even after buffing. Is this something you have found ?

What colour car?

People normally have issues removing products due to using far too much.  I had that issue when i first started to use BH Auto Balm as I used too much. (I still make that mistake with  AG Glass Polish)

You just let the applicator pad touch the wax and apply a thin layer.

As Del Boy would say;  "a little dab will do you! "

Plus it lasts a hell of a lot longer. If you want increased durability, you could always add a second coat about an hour or so after the first one,  but I haven't really noticed any difference when I've tried it.

The other cause is due to people either leaving the product on the vehicle far too long,  or as I have done, (and will probably do again this winter) try to use it when the temperature dropped.

Although not a video for BH Double Speed Wax,  the advice given still applies (go to about 37 seconds);

AG Ultra High Definition Wax

To be fair,  this product has a good reputation also. If it wasn't for the fact the Storeman at my local Skoda dealer being a chimp,  I would have bought it before the Double Speed Wax.

Cant say I have, no.

Theres so many variables at play when applying a wax to say what could have went wrong for someone to get hazing. Theres potential issues with every wax if your prep isn't 100% though.

Thanks for the replies. Having trawled around the internet, I'm tempted to give Detailed Online Surreal a go. Seems to offer what I'm looking for at a reasonable price

Cool, remember and post back how you get on with it.

Should give me all the excuses I need to buy even more waxes! It's an addiction I'm telling you.
