Not comparing specs just interior space and boot capacities the Scala can look competitive compared to say Golf S 1.0TSi 5 door at £19,420 or the Astra 1.0T AT £18,900. Then again I wouldn't buy any of these 3 cars.:tongueout:

The Golf might at least retain some value, but you still be driving VWs godawful little 1.0tsi.

Even the fleet buyers didn't buy the Rapid S or Toledo S. Nobody wants poverty spec cars.

Watch as they get first registered and then delivered to somebody, so someone wants them even though SKODA UK are lending them out and then selling them later as used.

New factory in Eastern Europe can produce upto 350,000 Scala's per year and can double that if the demand is there. Someone at Skoda has swallowed some very optimistic sales forecast pills.:blush

Are you saying you wouldn't buy a 1.0 Golf sized car full stop or that you would choose another brand if you were in that market?

Yes in a word. We bought a 1.1 litre 67bhp Picanto in 2009 brand new for £6,200. Then in 2015 we bought a 1.2TSi Rapid Spaceback for £18,600 just before Skoda dropped the prices on the range due to poor sales. Thrashing a small engine to keep up with modern traffic has little appeal anymore so minimum 1.4TSi for us.

We’ve just chosen a Polo GTI instead of a Scala, or anything else.

I fancy some fun and gadgets.
