Android Auto New interface

Featured Replies

Haven't seen this mentioned elsewhere  so apologies if it has been. The new interface is now available. So long as you have the up to date version, in AA select settings and there should be a new option to try the new android auto. Doesn't do anything new but the interface is much improved.

Thanks for that.

Just ticked the box and will see what's new when I next connect up.

I've just connected mine up and can confirm that it does look markedly different and easier to access the relevant programs.

A bit of an update.

At first glance it looks similar to the CarPlay interface (which isn't exactly bad) but it also adds other apps which didn't appear within the older interface.

A definite and worthwhile improvement.

Agreed, certainly an improvement.

The auto resume for music is a long awaited enhancement, much better than needing to press play every journey...

I don't imagine anyone has a head unit that allows wireless projection but if you switch developer options on in android auto there's an option to enable wireless projection. Restart ANroid Auto and it's available in settings and no more usb cable with a suitable head unit.
