Skoda Rapid TSI 2014 Sat Nav upgrade

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda sat nav. No sd card. Can’t see a sd slot in glove compartment. There is a slot on the side of the screen. How do I find out what I need. Thanks

The picture is similar to the sat nav I have.

The Factory fit for your car is the newer RNS315.

That said the RNS310 may be OK.

Similar, or the same?

If you can use sat nav without the SD card (or perhaps a cd) then you have an Amundsen+. Updated are via a new SD card which is unused, as once used they lock to the original unit they're used on and can't be transferred.

Dealers will probably sell you a card which will render your unit unusable (V11 or V10) but you can pop onto eBay and buy V9 maps (which are stable and will be fine) for the VW RNS315 for about £25.

Thanks for the replies

So I get a VW card RNS315.

Put the card in the slot in the side of the screen and it does its magic automatically

The card then can be removed.

I have to make sure it is a version 9.

Thanks again

More or less, yes. You have to tell it to copy the card onto the machine, but other than that it's as you say.
