Gauges

Featured Replies

Can someone recommend some gauges to use in an octy vrs, i dont want some of those tacky pillar mounted gauges but some gauges tastefully done in a subtle place would be superb.

And which are the best gauges to buy to suit the rest of the interior?

im not so keen on those gauges, they dont really suit the rest of the car imo.

I spotted those angled gauge mounts on ebay too, but don't think they suit the car.

I ended up getting a proper single din flat from a different seller on ebay... have a look at item 4615385214 to see what I mean.

Just looking for some nice gauges that have either black or silver faces, red/orange needles and have green illumination... to match the vrs dash.

Let me know if anyone knows of some.

cheers:thumbup:

VRSian, that DIN is nice, i like the fact its flat.. would that fit into the octy?

I think i will get the same gauges as rob though, thinking of going for Boost, Oil Temp and Oil Pressure.

I agree, the plate looks far better than the angled one. It should fit straight into the Octy but my cars still at the trimmers and cant wait to get it backand get them fitted.

The gauges like Rob has look cool, but I wonder if they are EL illuminated or a bulb? Just wondering if the bulb could be changed for a green one to match the rest of the dash?

hmmm, could be worth sending a question to they guy on ebay and finding out, would look much better if they could be backlit in green, finding the right green bulb to do it could be tricky though.

before you buy try driving and look at the radio and see if you can not crash... i like the look of gauges there but pratcally it just does not work you can not read them... this why i went for this

this pod sits on your dash where you steering wheel is in the middle of your rev and speedo much easy to read... limited to just one guage

I have questioned an ebay seller regarding the illumination source of the guages like Robs. It turns out they have bulbs fitted, so I have ordered a complete set for myself and will change the bulbs for high intensity green LED ones when they arrive, so they should match the OEM dash lighting in the octy

Try these guys in Ireland' date=' just bought my set (haven't got round to fitting yet) but you basically buy the full kit, guages, wiring the ot.
