Hi People, another noise problem !

Featured Replies

No not me !! Well, maybe i will become a "noise problem" on here, but for starters it's my new toy that's giving me some grief :(

After only a few days of ownership it's developed a noise on the front left corner that started odd times on pulling away, but now every time !

Noise is best decribed as a wrenching sort of noise, maybe like a stuck brake (but it's not)

only does it when moving off from a standstill for 1-2 seconds

does it in both 1st and reverse

If i reverse quickly & then touch the brake, the pedal feels harder / higher than normal (not tried this in 1st)

I jacked up the car & it would still do it with either front wheel on the ground & the other spinning, seems to come from ABS block under bonnet ??

ABS light works as it should (on for a couple of secs then goes out). ABS definatley works, took it out on wet road & stood on them with no lockups.

PLEASE PLEASE help, this is spoiling what i thought was a lovely car (1.8 20V octy on S reg)

anybody ??

Desperate to sort this out but don't want the expense of a new abs valve block if it's likely to be something else.

thanks peeps :):)
