Scratch down the drivers door

Featured Replies

I have come back to my car tonight to find some bottom wipe has crashed into my car, well, rubbed his car down the side of my drivers door.:finger:

The door is not dinted, but there is a very nice, deep scratch about 3cm long in 2 places and it is down to the metal.

Does anybody have any recommendations for people who can fix this in the Rotherham/Doncaster/Sheffield area and what sort of prices I am looking at?

I know some people who could 'fix' this for you.. but you'd need to find out who did it first...

Seriously though, bad luck mate, this sort of thing really annoys me. Why can't people have the decency to leave their details. I saw someone do this in a Supermarket carpark, then move their car and go shopping! They knew they had done it but because they had a look at the damage. Anyway, I followed them in and had an announcement put out over the tannoy to the owner of the car that got hit. I told them what happened and offered my service as a witness but I assume it never reached the insurance companies as I never heard anything back.

Hi meames

Bad luck there :thumbdwn:

I have seen this company mentioned/recommended a few times, though never used them myself: http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/

If it's down to the metal your looking at a bodyshop job. The door will require a complete respray as a scratch like that cant be simply 'blown in'. Expect to pay about £250-£300.

But hey it could be worse. I got my motor keyed right down to the metal a couple of weeks back. All 4 panels on the drivers side and the rear corner panel. Was quoted £1,200 so i'm putting it through the insurance.

Why are people such ****masters?
