Airbag light/steering wheel question

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I’ve got a a 2006 Fabia estate 1.4 TDi Bohemia.

The amber airbag light is on, on the instrument panel and I’ve got an MOT coming up. Had it plugged in and was told it was a drivers steering wheel airbag fault.

Looking to replace the airbag but with it being the Bohemia model, the steering wheel looks pretty much identical to the VRS steering wheel. Does anyone know if it will work if I get a replacement VRS one?

Ive attached a photo of my steering  wheel, thanks in advance.

@jay7239 - All the warning light indicates is that there is a fault in the airbag system. You need to know what the fault actually is rather than starting to throw parts at the car and hoping.

All the airbags and steering columns are the same so ANY Fabia steering wheel will fit.

Drivers steering wheel airbag igniter is what I was told by the the mechanic that plugged it in.

And how does he know that it's the igniter, rather than clock spring or wiring that feed it?

I have the same steering wheel on mine that I took from a vRS. As long as it's the same steering wheel the airbags are the same.

I’d wager the contact ring personally
