I recently bought a manual transmission Skoda Yeti 2011 with 1.4 TSI engine. The engine is making this strange whistle like noise during idle and also when driving in any gear and speed. The noise is more clearly noticeable when pressing gas pedal specially in gears 3 and 5 around 1500 -2300 rpm.  I have recorded this video by putting my phone on the gear stick.
I tried to identify the cause but so far I couldn't. What is causing this noise? Could it be engine, transmission or turbo?  Can you please help me?

Hi, Sorry but wondering if you found a solution? I’ve recently bought 1.4 TSI 2015 and seem to have come across the same noise.  At higher speeds and seems to ‘accompany’ the revs. Did you happen to find out what it was?

Does it still make that noise if the oil filler cap is removed?

Thanks for your message. Have not tried this. The noise is there when driving at higher speeds not when idling.
