V belt and Idle with AC.

Featured Replies

I'm getting an AC tomorrow and I need to know about some issues.

Engine 1.6, no original AC in the car.

Idle should increase when AC is on. How I do this automatically?

Is this a correct v belt setup (diagram attached)?

What is the correct size of the v belt (the is a ps pump too)?

Diagram is incorrect, belt should be on other side of the compressor pulley. Length for PS and AC is 1125mm.

About idle question, is it the same 1.6 AEE with magnetti marelli ECU, as European version?

It is done through a certain pin that goes High although finding a pin out for this ecu (or any stock ecu) is difficult.

Its not unlikely though that the car will raise the idle back to normal after it dips from the load.

BTW the belt does not seem correct as the grooves would not be touching the grooved pulley and it would most likely slip.

But wouldn't this make it a almost straight line from the power steering pump upwards?

RIBBED belt not V belt

Do you have a correct diagram of the serpentine belt for Felicia with Power Steering and Air Conditioning ?

I have, but for some reason I cannot upload it. I'll try later. It is very similar to this one, but belt runs on the other side of compressor pulley.

It doesn't, this illustration is not right, PS pump is closer to crankshaft pulley, so there is some angle.

I took a look into schematics, there's wire going from AC switch to pin 33 on 45-pin ECU plug. I think that's the one you are looking for.

Then there's another wire going from ECU to AC "control unit", probably "ready" signal. It goes from pin 35 on 45-pin plug to pin 2 on AC control unit.
