OE bars seem a bit steep at £235ish. Various options on Amazon etc from around £40. Any good quality/value options out there, please?

I have bought Thule WingBar 961 (+ Rapid System 775 as foot pack) for my Estate for ~230 €. Still quite expensive, but really good quality, easy to install.

I'm really satisfaied with them. I would recommend.

I have the Thule wingbar too with 710400 foot pack. Both can be had on Amazon for less than £160. I used to have the standard square bars and the track system on the wingbar is really worth it, quieter too.

Thule square bars are noisy. Aero or wing bars are better. 

Thule 961 Wing Bar Roof Bar with Thule Rapid System 775 Roof Rack Feet.  Stylish enough to leave on semi-permanently, easy to fit and remove, and no audible wind noise on motorways.

Used with Thule Freeride 532 Bicycle Carrier (T-bolts slide in groove on the roof bars.  You are meant to cut the rubber filler strip to size around the bolts, but I just peeled it back for the day while the rack was in use and pushed it back in afterwards, so it stays looking good).
