Lag / No throttle response

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My SKODA KODIAQ ESTATE 1.5 TSI SE L 5dr DSG [7 Seat] has done just 4000 miles and is 5 months old.

I am getting delays of a few seconds between depressing the accelerator pedal and the engine reacting. On two occasions, the engine has stopped completely for about 5 seconds. The dealer today acknowledged i am not the only one with this issue. They suggest there is a software update required, but that was carried out after I returned the car for the first time. The issue is not resolved. Now, they have my car and suggest they are awaiting advice from VW. I am refusing to hand back the courtesy car until it is fixed.

Anyone else have this?

Andy

I read the other day about a process to reset the throttle, I'll try and find the link but it was simple enough, I think you ran the car, switched off then turn key to position 2 then floor and hold the throttle down fully for about 10 seconds. If it was as simple as that the dealer would have done it though, at 5 months old I think I'd be hoping to reject the car. Must be a worry every time you try and pull out of a junction or roundabout. Sorry I can't be more help. Good luck sorting it.

Have a look at this thread

This is a huge issue, reported right across the VAG range. So much so people are rejecting their cars. This thread is the most commonly used to discuss the issue, althouhg it is located over in the Karoq forum...

101 pages long, and still the top topic on page 1...

Whatever you do, do not return the courtesy car until they can prove / demonstrate it has been fixed.
