Indicator restarts a song

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

This is a weird one and a real first world problem but whenever I use the indicator in my new 2019 octavia, it restarts the song on my Bluetooth music, sd card or android auto.

Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Thanks

Ken

That is odd - warranty job I suspect.

Is it on the 2019 Octavia banned songs list?

Warranty issue - I'd suspect the steering wheel controls or multi-column switch, but that's only because I'm a simpleton - with the amount of electrickery on these cars, who knows!

I had an issue with my Columbus randomly restarting music, or skipping a track - couldn't quite put my finger on what has going on, all seemed very random.

What I found was that the Columbus has something like "gesture control" where a swipe of the finger some distance away from the screen could still cause tracks to change, songs to restart etc.

I only mention this because you say it happens when you're using the indicators and of course your hands and somewhat close to the infotainment screen when you're using them.

Also worth considering: I had an issue recently where everytime the start-stop "started", the MFD would switch views as if I had moved the roller with my finger.

This went on for a week before two cells in my battery utterly failed! Once I replaced the battery, all was back to normal. Would be worth getting a full battery test - each cell in detail!

I must admit I hadn't thought of that one - I must try waving my arms about a bit more and see if I can get my one to replicate that function 🤣

It was annoying the hell out of me - I actually bought about 3 different SD Cards as I was convinced there was an issue with those - buying full size cards instead of micro cards and adapters in case they were loose.

Then on one long journey it suddenly dawned on us, moving the hands towards the infotainment screen, towards a skip or remind button and it would activate without me having to touch the screen.

I cannot remember what the feature is called, however I disabled it and nothing has skipped or rewound since.
