Skoda's fat arse recognition not working

Featured Replies

😂 Seems that wombats don't have a large enough radar return for the pedestrian detection.  I've had it go off for our giant rats though.

* A satirical mocumentary around the 2000 Sydney Olympics organising comittee selected the mascot "fatarse the wombat" and the name has kind of stuck to wombats ever since.

* Giant rat = Kangaroo

Shows how good the headlights are though.👍

Also good to see the emergency flashing brake lights and automatic activation of the hazard lights.

I reckon the HIDs on the Superb 2 were better in terms of sheer power, but the beam pattern on the Kodiaq is nice.  Wish we got the matrix LEDs in the Superb 3 though.

Interesting. Even when I changed original Superb 2 HID-s to Osram Cool Blue-s, the Superb front lightning still seems so 19th century compared to Kodiaq LED-s.

Beam is wider, longer, brighter.

Yeah, but I miss the AFS of the Superb, that was really nice, also! Where is the A (as from Adaptive) in Kodi frontlights (beside the up and down leverage), because I cannot see it?

Are the LED's moving left-right for city driving to increase the light pattern?

It means the light pattern adjustment is more subtile on Kodi...

Thanks, @Kenny R for the info!

I've never seen the 'static bending light' from the above diagram come on.  I'm not sure it's actually there (there is a hole for it in the reflector).

I only see the fogs come on for the cornering light.

Maybe it only activates at speed.

I too keep meaning to check this out too.

They don't appear to illuminate when stationary, see here...

Although they are utilised as part of high beam / flash as seen in the above video.

However, from behind the wheel, the illumination is really quite bright when they pop on and off whilst turning corners, they seem so much brighter than the front fog lights alone, so I'm assuming they are operating at speed? Difficult to say for sure though as I'm never looking directly at the headlights when turning corners at 30mph :D

Need a mirror on a stick :)

There is a big difference if you compare LED with the bi-xenon lights, due to the moving parts existing in the last ones, so light really ”follows” the curves in twisty roads. Also bi-xenon is brighter.
