Removing scratches from headlights Octavia mk3

Featured Replies

Hi all I recently bought a 2016 Octavia, love the car but clearly at some point someone has tried to clean the headlights with a scouring sponge. Fine scratches all over both headlights.

Can this be polished out? If so what product would you recommend? T cut?

Thanks

T-cut is very good for demisting headlights, I used it yesterday to good effect on my wife's '07 Daihatsu, they look new again.  Give it a try with a buffing pad on a drill, if they already look bad, you haven't got anything to lose.

Once you’ve buffed them, get something like this to restore the coating on them. If you don’t, there’s a good chance they’ll mist over again, especially if they get exposed to salt on the roads

Lithium ion batteries required 😧

I mean, they don’t say they’re required to use the kit. Lithium ion batteries are always required 😋

They don't tell you where to shove them to make you polish faster but I can guess. Ouch.

IMO, it depends how bad the scratches are. You may need something more more cut than T-cut, such as a wet-sand and machine polish.
