My 2018 model VAG car was delivered without a paper service book.

 

As my first service is approaching I have booked it in for a service and queried the lack of service book, but I am assured that they are not supplied new anymore and that the services are stored online.

 

Is this true and how does one gain access to these online service stamps? surely creates a problem in the private market if you have no physical proof that a car has been serviced, or is this just another main dealer con to make sure you go to the stealers for services.

All service records have been digital only for many years, my 2015 Octavia only has digital service records...
