Hi Everyone

I'm about to purchase a very tidy W reg Skoda Ocatvia 2.0 SLXi.

Its in excellent condition and a very nice looking car indeed. Had heard good reports about Octavia so thougth it was time to buy one.

Is there any performance upgrades / ECU remapping / chips available for this car? Whilst the Skoda is no slouch my existing car is a saab 9000 2.3 and as you can appreciate I will miss its power!

I'm not a boy racer but would like just to improve the skodas bhp / 0-60 time a little

If you dont mind me asking, if you're not happy with the performance of a 2.0 why didn't you buy a 1.8T?

Best bet is to find out what other cars the engine is fitted to, and search the net.

A decent cold air feed, decat and less restrictive exhaust help any car. No idea if remaps are possible, but worth phoning up the main companies.

TBH if you want to get any more than an extra 5 or maybe 10bhp (unless a remap can give more) then you'll probably be spending a fair bit, and you'd be better off with a 1.8T.

Strapping a turbo on is almost always possible, but with the exception of honda engines rarely cost effective.

Good question why not go for a 1.8 T?

The 2.0 SLXI I am looking to buy has come up for absolutely silly money - She is being sold rediculously cheap considering her age, mileage and condition plus it has the VRs alloys on it. All in all its a great price and great looking car.

When you say phone "the major companies" is there anyone you could suggest that might be able to help at all?

See the banner up there? ^^^^ it advertises most of them. I honestly have no idea if it's even possible to remap a 2.0, but worth asking.

The 2.0 has enough running issues without bolting a turbo on it.

The Octavia is a great car to be sure, but the 2.0 isnt its finest hour to be sure, id rather have the 100 bhp 1.6 if I had to choose between them.
