Upgrading ICE

Featured Replies

Hello

I was wondering if anyone knows or has experience of upgrading their infotainment system. I am looking at the feasibility of replacing the unit I have in a 2015 Yeti, the unit has no DAB/Sat nav and no android auto, cost is not really an issue but I don't want a 3rd party aftermarket job looking for a genuine VW unit

What radio do you have? Possibly a MIB style Bolero in a 150PS 2015 Yeti?

You should definitely look into the later MIB style Amundsen. You'd need to add antenna's for DAB + GPS plus a USB socket for Android Auto but otherwise, it should fit in nicely. You might need a wiring adaptor depending on what you currently have.

I know @pab567 sometimes has some for sale with component protection removed and all functions unlocked ready for fitting.

Almost certain its this, same layout and button order anyway

Pls post model number - can be checked in Setup / System Information menu.

No good?

Good, I was away for a bit. Your unit is MY16 Bolero non-DAB.

So you want DAB and SatNav unit? The best solution for you is 5L0035680C as it can be hacked with SW only. You must get unit, have it installed in your car and CP removed and then sent to me for hacking.

You can also get 5L0035680A - MY15  AMundsen, same procedure but it has MirrorLink only (no Android Auto, no Apple Carply). Or 5L0035680E (MY17 AMundsen) but it requires HW patch and CAN filter which make it more expensive.
