1.6tdi cr black edition CAYC 105bhp

Had my octy for 18 months or so, 105bhp wasnt punchy but was acceptable for the 10mile drive to work each day.

However, change of location means that's jumped to 50 or so miles, half a-roads, half motorway.

So I took advantage of the situation and put a DTUK box in and I'm really pleased so far- its put it up to 145 which still isn't groundbreaking but makes things more amusing on the commute.

So, with spare time on my hands, naturally I've been looking at what else I can do to get a little bit more out of it- as much for the excuse to tinker as the perceived performance gains.

So:

I've been trawling the forums and came across replacing the turbo inlet elbow and bellowed pipe.

However looking around I can only find replacements for the 1.8 and 2.0tdi, so my question is are they compatible with the 1.6tdi cr turbo?

Also looking at the air intake mod of blanking of the hot air inlet and opening up the passenger inlet

Any thoughts or advice please let me know

There won't be much for a 1.6tdi but, the banking plates are a good place to start also, remove the snow guard & see if you can find a sports/performance air filter.

TBH though, air intake wise, doesn't do much if anything for a diesel, the DTUK Pedalbox however, will make the car feel better though & if it's a DSG try the TCU, it makes the gear changes so much faster

What noaim said.  Filter and airbox mods on a diesel won't offer much in the way of power but may provide an increased pickup.  I have a pedal box and a remap with the inlet mods (not blocked off yet).  I'd be interested in how the elbow, etc. helps.  Let us know how you get on.
