BMM (octavia) and BKD (golf) wiring diagrams needed please

Featured Replies

Hi !

I'm looking for BMM (octavia 4x4 2008) and BKD (golf 2007) wiring diagrams needed please .
Long story short, my low km BMM engine has been plagued with issues the last few years and the multitude of parts needed to remotely get to fixing it is looking expensive and no guarantees it ever will.
I have a complete (known history) BKD golf front cut and would like to compare the interior wiring harness loom too ECU connections for both the BMM and BKD , there are differences, but want to see if the bulk of it is in the engine compartment and could be spliced into without replacing the whole loom under the dash.

If anyone has access to these files or knows where i can get them i'd greatly appreciate it.
Also, has anyone else done a swap from BMM to BKD ?

Thanks

Nic

A few mechanical challenges to overcome too I expect.

8v - 16v and Non DPF to DPF being the ones that spring to mind.

I'm going from DPF to non DPF so more to throw away :)

Hopefully i wont have any issues with the turbo or downpipe fouling the 4x4 gearbox 😛  , the old BMM is so tight back there (i had to do its turbo before and the 4x4 makes its almost imposible to get too), am hoping the BKD will actually free up some room as the EGR on the BKD is at the front.

Its the wiring that is my biggest concern tbh, i dont really want to pull the dash to do it if i can help it .

Not sure if the regs regarding the requirement of a DPF go back to 2008 but I assume you have looked into that.

There is a BKD 4Mo so if there are subtle differences parts are at least off the shelf.

Where i live in Australia i dont have a yearly inspection to pass etc , i'm not planning on ever selling the car, i've already owned it from new (2008) . I can check on the DPF removal, but i dont believe it will be an issue here unless i sold the car in the future and even then these cars are so rare here i doubt the inspector would know what they were looking at.

Good to know there is a 4motion BKD thanks, i'll have to make the 4x4 fit , or fit the 2wd gearbox instead as a last resort .

The Octavia also came with the BKD PD engine my first octy had the BKD 150bhp unit and i'm sure my EGR and cooler were on the back (it was non DPF) as the car was a 2007 hatchback in elegance spec.

Be aware the BKD engine did/do have turbocharger problems, normally the VNT vanes get sticky (can rectify this with the mr muscle service treatment, do a search) and the boost control sensors go out whack which leads to the turbo going bang.

This BKD had a new turbo in 2013 and i know is making a slight noise, i ordered a cheap (AU$100) ebay turbo core on Sunday as not replacing it while the motor is laying on the floor of the garage is like picking cherries.

I'm not sure on the 2.0L TDi engine variants available to Australia, i believe all 4x4 models like mine were BMM, i simply loathe this engine now  . The BKD from the golf in Australia is a relatively common motor hence my keenness to get this engine to work in the car.
