Glow plug light flashing on 2.0 tdi dsg

Featured Replies

Code p0191 is the only fault code .

Sometimes slow to start and can cut out from time to time . Goes into limp home mode when glow plug light comes on . My gut feeling is to change low pressure pump in tank but as it is expensive im holding off . I checked pump in tank and it is working as normal plus the filter on pump is clean . I changed fuel filter . There is 63000 miles on car . Any ideas .

My gut feeling is that you need to measure the fuel rail pressure, it could just be the fuel pressure sensor. You could also measure the pressure from the in tank lift pump or on some 2.0 engines there is an intermediate auxiliary fuel pump as well.

So you have 3 fuel pumps and a possible sensor/wiring issue.

what engine code do you have?

Thanks for reply . I havent checked pressure yet but i did remove low pressure pump from tank to check filter which was ok . I also checked fuel pressure sensor connections on rail . The car is now running perfectly for a few days but i suspect the problem will return . The generic Code is po191 which is too vague . Will update if it malfunctions again.
