The SEL doesn't have as standard front and rear sensors and rear camera which I like to have. auto high beam and a spare wheel which in all do only add about £775 so not that different if someone can live with the ride/noise of the bigger wheels. Until the Renault discounts and PCP's come out I agree it will difficult to get an accurate cost comparison. Either way options on an SE do work out as a very expensive way of doing it so shame about the wheels not being an option. FUnnily enough Renault have gone the other way with the bigger wheels being an option, which does perhaps seem more sensible.

 

If you call or email Skoda(UK) directly and get to Sales Exec then they will intercept the factory order and arrange for you to get smaller wheels on the high spec models. I have done this twice with Yeti’s on which the standard wheel size was 17” but changed it to 16” without problems. Ride is so much better on higher profile tyres so heavens knows why manufacturers keep speccing silly low profile tyres which are frequently damaged by our rutted and pot holed roads.
