Aftermarket styling headlights or mods

Featured Replies

Hi,

Recently I was looking at (styling) headlights upgrade options only to find out it's a very difficult subject (hiya Golf owners..?!). I know this came up a couple times in the past but I wanted to see if there's any update on that, I'm hoping to get a little summary here.

I wanted something that's road-legal in UK and would help to refresh my Fabia a little. Ideally I would like to get the "angel eyes" rings.

So things that are available so far:

Led Devil Eyes that cost £230. Only if they didn't look like half of that.

Some cool projectors/angel eyes for £169-190 that would give me this great look and a failed MOT (being LHD). Any experience modifying these?

Anyone tried installing projectors / angel eyes in the stock assemblies? I know it's possible to take the stock lights apart and paint the inner frames black but hoped for a bigger modification.

You can fit bi-xenon mini-projectors to standard headlamps. In theory that might fail an MOT due to inappropriate lamp type.

There’s a guy who sells various RH xenons on Instagram ...

Thanks guys. I realised I sent him an email a while ago but probably there's a long queue!

How do people fit these "conversion kit" projectors in there? There is not a single flat surface inside the reflector so I'm under impression it must be a bit difficult to get perfectly straight angle?

Typically, you buy the kit that matches the original halogen bulb. So H1, H7 etc. The projector fits on bulb hole using adapter plates. In order to fit it, the glass must be separated from the front of the lamp assembly. For some installations some dremelling of the reflectors or projector shrouds is necessary.
