Want to ask about Superb options

Featured Replies

Hi.

I’m decided to buy Superb. I have my dream spec, but I need to cut the price a little bit. I’m going to tell about most of the options I picked and ask is it good choice or not and ask about everything I’m not sure.
Can you guys help? I like to hear Yours opinions and experiences.

Polish configurator can be a little different than in other countries.

I chose facelifted sportsline in grey steel on Vega rims.

I’m almost decided to go 190 ps TDI 4x4, but... the 150 ps is not much cheaper, but as I understand is much more fuel efficient. About 4x4 in Poland we don’t have rough winters, but for me is safety and traction. I’m preferred petrol engines, but considering 120k km in 36 months I guess it is a good choice.

Virtual cockpit is a must for me.

Lane assist - do I really need it? Isn’t the Side assist enough? But I’m losing Traffic jam assist.

Park assist - I don’t need my car to park by itself, but the dealer said that I will get more side sensors?!

Foot waving trunk - do I need it?

DCC - I have heard that is a must?

Progressive Stearing?

If I’m going online to use sat nav from Apple CarPlay do I need anything more than Bolero?

Canton? - I like techno.
Comfortable sleep package? 100£ for a blanket?!

Alcantara headliner - pass for that price

Heated steering wheel - pass? I have underground car park, same for the webasto.
Back wiper? I don’t like the looks.

Winter wheels - I didn’t see it and heard about 17” and 18” rims options, or just tires. Do You have pictures?

Do I missed something?

Hi @karas2002 and welcome. My Superb is TDI 190ps without 4x4 and is MY17, so I can't help with everything but will have a go at the bits I know about. I've put my answers underneath your questions in italics.

My 190 gets about 5mpg less than my previous Mk2 140, and I am guessing you will lose another 3-5mpg for 4x4. But that should still mean 45mpg on motorways, which is pretty decent.

With that kind of mileage I would always go TDI - I too prefer petrol, but do similar mileage to you.

Virtual cockpit is a must for me.

Can't comment I'm afraid - my dials are steam-driven.

I love Lane Assist (remember to activate the Active Lane Guidance too to make it work fully). Traffic Jam Assist is brilliant and I would not be without it.

Park assist - I don’t need my car to park by itself, but the dealer said that I will get more side sensors?! Your dealer is right. For me, this is a weird one. I think the front and rear sensors I had on a previous Mk2 Superb are brilliant. But for me the side sensors are too sensitive and give false readings, particularly in tight spaces. I would happily do without them, but other Briskoda members really like them. Could you get a test drive in one that has them and one that doesn't? Then you could make your own mind up.

Foot waving trunk - do I need it?

I rarely use mine and would not pay extra for it if it were an option.

DCC - I have heard that is a must?

I really like DCC and the options it gives you in "Individual" mode (you can set the suspension, steering, ACC etc differently, so the car feels exactly as you want it. I would strongly recommend it.

Progressive Stearing?

I don't have it so can't comment sorry.

If I’m going online to use sat nav from Apple CarPlay do I need anything more than Bolero?

I guess not, but see immediately below.

Canton? - I like techno.

I love my Canton and highly recommend it. Though if it were a choice between Canton and DCC, I would choose DCC. I might be wrong, but I didn't think it was possible to have Bolero with Canton (mine is Columbus), so check with your dealer.

Comfortable sleep package? 100£ for a blanket?!

I have never heard of this, so can't comment sorry. But the blanket I carry in mine cost £5 so it does sound expensive.

Alcantara headliner - pass for that price

Agree.

Heated steering wheel - pass? I have underground car park, same for the webasto.

I don't have the heated wheel, but I really want one and will make sure my next car has it.

Back wiper? I don’t like the looks.

Agree, and I've never had cause to wish I had it.

Winter wheels - I didn’t see it and heard about 17” and 18” rims options, or just tires. Do You have pictures? Mine came with 18" rims (Pegasus, standard on the L&K). Lots of Sportline owners use smaller winter wheels. Do a search on the Superb Mk3 forum and you will find lots of information. Mine look like this.

I really like the blind spot monitor, as I think the door mirrors are too small to be effective. And if you are going to pass on the Webasto, you might want to think about heated seats. I really like them.

Good luck with it.

Thanks so much for such a complex comment. I don’t write about blind spot and heated seats, because I will definitely go for it. The comfortable sleep package You can see below.
