Average MPG

Featured Replies

Good Morning, Chaps,

I've had my new car for nearly 3 months now and have never been able to find out my Average MPG since day one.

I've played around with the settings in the car, I've read the manual more than once, all to no avail.

All I get is the average MPG for the current trip.

I have never `zero'd` anything.

So, is there a way for me to get this info from the car?

Many thanks for any help.

The only accurate way to calculate the actual fuel consumption is keep all your fuel receipts, add up the total of litres, devide by 4.546 to give gallons used and divide that into the total miles covered. SIMPLY CLEVER. The onboard computer will always be wrong unless you adjust it using a plug in device.;)

Can you not flip through to the "long term" figures on either the headunit or in the maxidot?

If you bring up the MPG (current trip) in the view between your speedo/rev counter, then press the toggle wheel and it will erm toggle between 'trip', 'since refuel' and 'long term' MPG calculations.  To reset any of these you need to press and hold the toggle wheel until it zero's.

EDIT: IIRC the long term stuff resets every 1000 miles

Long term figures only reset after 99 hours 59 minutes driving. Usually after 3,700 miles in my Octavia and 2,600 miles in wife's Karoq.

Ah perhaps it's my memory that resets every 1k miles.  Thanks

Very similar to what we have got after 20,000 miles in our Karoq SEL 1.5TSi manual.
