2006 spare key

Featured Replies

Hi

think lost my remote key today but I have a spare. Don’t like not having another though. Anyone know how much a mk1 fabia remote key is? Unlike my old comfort trim 2001 estate my blinking 2006 elegance tdi has no cable tailgate release- (nor electric solenoid interior button) you need the remote..

can you get non remote keys cut if you want one? Advice pls

thank you

Keys are about £220

Timpson , circa £100, BUT some locksmiths charge LESS. My advise( based on breakdown Services ) is to shop around.

Thanks. It's been found which is great. Not got it yet as it's in London and I live in Edinburgh but good news.

Really does bug me the newer Elegance Mk1 not having a tail gate release though. Why oh why did Skoda decide no interior electrical release AND no cable operation on newer models..  Seems crazy. I mention this again as a non fob key would be ok if you could open the back..

cheers Scott

There is a tailgate release, you just have to get out of the car and walk round the back to open it, if yours isn't working that may explain your remarks.

My 2003 Comfort estate tailgate doesn't open remotely, you have to do the old fashioned thing of walking around the back and squeezing the release above the number plate.

Sorry, you’re both right I do have that working too. I had my 2001 for 3+ years, I continually find it infinitely annoying the newer car doesn’t have the interior release handle

Often the tail gate half unlatches then isn’t all that easy to catch fully open via 2nd solenoid release. I think the cable operated release was always A1.

Also my car isn’t programmed to open all doors on first remote click, just drivers door opens. Also been annoying to often get out only to find tail gate still locked. This would’ve been another occasion that just flipping it open with the cable release could’ve and would’ve been helpful.

Its just a bit of a grumble about the new car of mine.  Not least if the solenoid was to fail..
