Just to confirm which pins is it that looking for the 12v on? And how to denote what is what on the plug.

Depending on build date, either the four pins I mentioned first, or the three in the other post.

Pin numbers are usually on the connector somewhere.

Its definitely the pin 1 and 25 permanent lives has a switched on 35 but does not seem to have anything on pin 7 if that is meant to be a permanent live where is it fed from?

Check the blade fuses under a little cover on the battery top fuse holder. 

Off grid just now so can't tell you which number.

It was that cable from one of the blade fuses on top of the battery had corroded through where it goes down Infront of the battery.

Sometimes one just has to settle for the reward that is part and parcel of 'giving'. The OP did at least feed back with the solution to the problem, which many never do. :)
