Bolero radio - virtually no AM radio reception

Featured Replies

As title - can hear the station very faintly if radio is turned up to full volume. No problem on FM, CD or SD card. Sometimes when radio is first switched on the reception/volume is initially perfect but then quickly goes faint after a few seconds. Accessing hidden menu shows one antenna on, the other off. Had the car from new in 2011 with no issues.

Recently,  i noticed that whilst travelling North up the M5 the issue resolved itself and AM was fine. Same on return to Dorset. Both antennae showed as 'on'. Assumed it to be something to do with poor signal but now the issue has returned and is clearly not signal related.

Have pulled the radio out and checked connections. Also disconnected/ reconnected roof aerial.

Anyone have a solution?

Following, just this week my bolero in a 2012 octavia, am works ok for 10 secs then goes off. With vol on max you can just about hear it. Have tried factory reset no difference.

If car is parked for few hours same problem.
