How can I make my headlight Brighter

Featured Replies

Been using this 57plate Skoda for a few months and I’ve noticed that both headlights are not very bright. Are there any bulbs that will make them brighter

Have a look at Philips Xtreme Vision or Osram Nightbreaker Laser NG, both around the same price, and quite an improvement on cheap bulbs

I can vouch for Phillips Xtreme Vision - made a huge difference on unlit roads, definitely worth the extra money

@Scania123

Osram nightbreakers they last longer than the philips ones and are cheaper.

Actually bought a set today on

Powerbulbs.com

As they have a clock change weekend promo going - 25% off and free world wide shipping on all orders - no value restrictions.

Put them through college.

I would check they are set up correctly.

When I first got my car I was really impressed with how much of the road they lit up compared to my previous car.  However,  they were never the same after the dealer 'flattened' them when I took the car to France and Spain, and then adjusted them back. I requested they adjust them at every service and was told they were well within Skoda tolerance.

That's when I started using the Osram Nightbreaker original and II.  The main problem I found with them because of how they operate and I was travelling long distances, I was lucky to get a year out of them at best.  So I resorted back to normal bulbs.

Recently I've started using an independent and got him to adjust the lights,  and they are a vast improvement over what they were.

I fitted aftermarket 4000k HIDs in mine,  put the shutters down so it was a flat beam and adjusted them properly them so it wouldn't annoy people.  They made a tremendous difference to night driving.  That was circa 2009.  Never been flashed.  Never had an issue with police.  Never been mentioned at the yearly registration check.
